For the last six years I have been studying with The Open University. I didn’t go to University when I was young, so when I turned 60 I decided it was high time.
I’ve loved studying for my degree and on Sept 15th I’ll be awarded a First Class Honours degree at the Royal Albert Hall. Studying, working for Saidia, being on the local council and being a grandmother hasn’t left much room for my own writing, but in the summer breaks I’ve managed to write a novel – a first person account by Helen of Sparta of her life. Now, after the fourth draft, it is ready to see the world and I’m in the process of sending agent enquiries.
So, I don’t have any poems to share today, but just wanted to give you an update and assure you that although I’m not much on the poetry scene anymore I have some exciting stories waiting to be read!
